Click here for full details on my experience, skills and a few other things.
I am a 27 year old freelance web designer and have been working in the web industry since 2008.
I am passionate about producing creative, unique visuals that clearly communicate a brand’s message. Particularly those related to the arts or those that engage young people. I then transform them into clean, standards-based markup.
I also have a keen interest in mobile / responsive web design and have recently started putting this into practice, as you can see by this very website.
I primarily work with design / development / internet marketing agencies by having them outsource work to me. The vast majority of which is WordPress related and normally involves designing and building custom WordPress themes from scratch. I also work with my own, direct clients as you can see by most of the pieces in my portfolio.
I am happy to work either remotely or in-house, whichever works best.
I like meeting and working with new people as much as possible. I mainly do this at Jelly co-working events as well as various other creative get togethers around Liverpool and Manchester. I generally prefer to stick to these types of casual meetups as opposed to corporate networking events.

I start every design project with a sketchpad and pencil. That’s right… a pencil! Sketching is one of my favourite parts of the design process, it’s a great way to brainstorm ideas as they flow much faster on paper compared to re-working a Photoshop mockup.
Not only that but it gives you an excuse to carry a swanky sketchpad around with you.
As of February 2012 I’ve been working from the co-working space @Basecamp_3 (website link here), which is a great working environment because it means being surrounded by friendly creatives in various fields.
If you’re based local to Liverpool I’d strongly recommend checking it out! We even have work’s nights out every now and then too ;)
I’m renowned for my beeping Casio F91W, although it is starting to concern me just how ‘trendy’ these watches are becoming.

When I’m not busy with client work or tirelessly redesigning my own website I like being creative in other ways, such as drawing or reading design related books & magazines.
I’ll be sure to update you with all of this on my blog from now on.
I like torturing myself at the gym in order to counteract the effects of partying and the inevitable junk food that it results in. However I prefer to make the most of our whole 2 sunny days of the year by going for a run outside instead.
I’ve also recently got back into my old hobby of beating myself up at various skateparks such as Rampworx, Liverpool (see image below) on my rollerblades. Before you ask, I’m not into skateboarding and have never fancied skiing… although snowboarding I’d like to try ;)
I think that’s most of my career / personality in a nutshell anyway. If there’s anything else you’d like to know about me, just ask!
