Graphic designer self-branding

If you’re a designer and anything like myself, you probably find that you are your own worst client and by far the most difficult to please. It always turns out to be worth it in the end though eh…

Let us be thankful that, as designers, we can sort ourselves out without having to pay anyone, however painful the process to get there must be… whereas the likes of dentists or hairdressers don’t have that option no matter how good they are! Bet you didn’t think about it like that did you?

It’s been a while since I rebranded myself, nearly two years, and originally I only really thought to post the project photos to my Behance page (and it took me about a year to get round to doing that). But this way I can immortalise my branding that cost me so much blood, sweat and tears.

It might look a little odd the fact that I have screengrabs of my own website posted *on my own website*… I mean, you’re obviously already looking at my website in order to read this post, so why would you want to see pictures of it? Well it’s for two reasons:

  1. You don’t have to faff around in order to view the different layouts for mobile, tablet etc
  2. This web design isn’t going to look this way forever, so it’s good to know that people can still see how it looked even when I come to re-design it… depending on when you read this, maybe I’ve re-designed it already

Have you got any personal branding that you’re particularly proud of? Or ashamed of? Post some links in the comments for the whole world to see!

Or just let me know what your client-relationship with yourself is like…
